Astell & Kern x JH Audio – Billie Jean
Billie Jean is born from the collaboration of Astell&Kern and Jerry Harvey Audio on in-ear monitors equipped with a new Dual Balanced Armature (BA) driver system. It is another product created by combining Jerry Harvey’s IEM design expertise with Astell&Kern’s quality production.
Billie Jean features Jerry Harvey Audio’s patented Freqphase™ technology with a sound hole design. The new IEM uses a 2-way 2-BA design, a Silver Tinsel cable, and a compact enclosure. The result is a brilliant IEM that impresses across the audiophile spectrum.
„(…) The Billie Jean IEM features Jerry’s iconic Rock ‘n Roll sound; a well-balanced and wide soundstage, incomparable dynamic range, and Jerry Harvey Audio’s patented Freqphase™ technology make this an IEM. Billie Jean is the perfect match to compliment any Astell&Kern player.”

Superior technologies on JH Audio – Billie Jean
The Billie Jean incorporates Balanced Armature drivers. Which are a custom design available only from Jerry Harvey Audio design to deliver more power with less weight. As a result, the Billie Jean impresses with an efficient yet powerful sound.
The bass driver provides a steep low bass effect without any distortion while the high-range driver performs with minimal distortion. While the ultimate midrange driver provides the perfect flat sound from 10Hz to 5kHz.
Through Jerry Harvey Audio’s Freqphase™, Timephase and Waveguide technologies, the 2-Way 2-BA IEM delivers the full range of audio performance. The special Acoustic Chamber Sound Bore design creates a wide soundstage with a unique dynamic range.
Freqphase™ Time and Phase Waveguide for JH Audio – Billie Jean
The large majority of in-ear monitors with multiple drivers suffer from phase and timing issues. Low, mid, and high drivers all have different pulse times. The higher it is, the faster the pulse time of the BA driver. The lower it is, the slower the response speed. As a result, the arrival times and phase shifts are not synchronized.
With the Billie Jean in-ear monitors, Jerry Harvey Audio’s unique “Freqphase” technology used, which uses precisely cut tube lengths for each driver in order to minimize the phase shift of each frequency. This allows the high, mid, and low-frequency drivers to be precisely matched to within 1/100ms of each other for the most.

Silver Tinsel Cable with detachable 2pin connector
The cable used in the Billie Jean which is a silver plate copper cable. For this, the silver-plated copper wire is first compressed, then flattened, and rolled into a uniform interval, which is then used to wrap the Kevlar or Zxoin & Technora.
Thus, the newly developed cable has amazing resistance and delivers the full dynamic range of music. Kevlar fibers are used for unbalanced 3.5mm bundle cables and Zxoin and Technora fibers are used for balanced 2.5mm cables (2.5mm balanced cable is only included with the Billie Jean Purple model).
Kevlar is an aramid fiber. And the manufacturer is a US company. It is very light, durable, and about 5 times stronger than steel. It is made of carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen and is particularly strong against friction. And this is why it is often used for body armor and aircraft tires.
Zxion is a polyester crystalline fiber that can transmit signals more reliably. Technora is a para-aramid fiber that has a tensile strength about 8 times higher than steel and mainly uses for parachutes. Both were developed by Japanese companies.
