Rinaro, an audio company with a long history, has a well-seasoned R&D team that has been at the forefront of planar magnetic development since the 80s at the heart of its technology. Their new cutting-edge industrial facility in Ukraine is state-funded with a focus on sonic evolution and innovations.

Isodynamic Hybrid Array Driver Technology on Meze – Empyrean
Inside the artistic fiberglass-infused ABS framework you will find two Isodynamic Hybrid Array Drivers symmetrically installed on either side. Strong neodymium magnets are positioned in a unique Hybrid Array to generate a powerful isodynamic magnetic field, creating uniform sonic impulses from all over the entire surface of the membrane. Producing 4650 mm² of the active area, the membrane weighs only 0.16 grams. The fiberglass-infused ABS frame ensures its durability.
What makes it even more special… Within the same diaphragm, two independently formed voice coils are combined to give a more selective acoustic performance to specific locations within the ear structure. Independently shaped voice coils are implemented in the Empyrean Driver, allowing sound to be custom-tuned with the highest accuracy in correspondence to the structure of the ear.
This unique combination maximizes direct sound wave frequency exposure over the 10kHz range, enhancing imaging and positioning by reducing the effects of dispersed field reflections’ shortwave time delays.
Each driver is handmade and carefully tested in an industrial facility in Ukraine.
Enhanced sound intensity and phase performance with unique multiple-coil technologies
Traditional planar magnetic arrays always distort the 3D sound image when reflecting signals with variable time delays. When directed toward the auricle and ear canal, the waveform corrected by the combination of multiple voice coils enables superior sound intensity distribution across the audible spectrum. And especially in the higher frequencies, which are often softened or distorting.
A design with Anthropometric measures in mind
The Meze – Empyrean comes with ergonomically designed, oval shape earcups with an anatomical design. Like a sports car, the weight and material are light but extremely sturdy to optimize not only useability and sonic reproduction qualities.
The formula for an F1 racing car, or a high-end audiophile headphone, is to optimize its output power. And fine-tune to give it the best control, not to forget minimizing the weight as much as possible. With an ovoid-shaped design, the framework is weight-reduced to the highest extent and it will match all ears with top-level comfort.
The driver’s power output was maximized thanks to a wholly custom coil and special magnet array which has maxed out the driver’s active useable area within its ovoid physique.
Innovative Isomagnetic technologies on Meze – Empyrean
The Isomagnetic® ear cup attachment is a unique creation that uses the demagnetizing field created by the driver to keep the ear cup in place, while simultaneously redirecting the magnetic field back into the driver and enhancing driver efficiency.
Furthermore, the magnetic stray field that affects the listener’s head is reduced by using ferromagnetic ear cushions. The patented ferromagnetic plates return the magnetic field to the driver, enhancing output power as well as the driver’s overall efficiency.
