Sonic improvements – Andromeda vs Andromeda 2020
Enhanced by technical means the new Solid-Body structure delivers appreciable improvements to the sonic output. The angular silhouette may look similar to the older renditions, so as the emerald-green that almost becomes the brand’s signature, the Andromeda 2020 is totally brushed up on the inside.
Located in the heart of the metallic chassis is a single print body, which accommodates all of the vital sound components. With precise calculation over internal and external spacing, the sonic quality is further short of the original design. Fewer moving parts contribute to higher accuracy and more precise, transparent tonality, leading to more reliable reference performance for stage, mastering, and daily listening.
Zirconium blasted
Looking at the nozzle you will discover a new spout design, with the signature grill pattern that keeps the earphones free from debris. Zirconium blasted, the finely machined aluminum shells are then high point with emerald green anodizing, the signature color for the Andromeda.
T.A.E.C. (Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber)
Campfire’s tuned acoustic expansion chamber technology attempts to deliver top-class treble performance without getting you any fatigue. By adjusting the air volume of the front chamber to achieve the natural presentation, where the super highway, the direct passage between the driver and the ear, unblocks not to suppress any clarity and extension.

Today we could compare the Campfire Andromeda 2020 with its legendary predecessor. The verdict is clear: the new Andromeda is simply more harmonious and balanced. “It is still the Andromeda only a better Andromeda. Yes, there could be an argument that it is safer less polarizing tuning with a more relaxed treble. After all, it was the tubeless treble driver that got a lot of people talking about it in the first place. However, the better midrange tuning, combined with a more vibrant low-end, stronger and smoother mids tuning and just simply more coherence throughout should win over plenty of followers both old and new. It is still my reference for reviewing for just about any source with its easy to drive nature and a sound signature that lends itself really well to a wide range of DAPs. The Andromeda 2020 still retains that classic status monitor for me. It is a world-class elbow dip for any audiophile who wants to get something fun to listen to.”
