The Empyrean II Peacock combines the acoustic authority of Meze’s second-generation planar-magnetic flagship with an exclusive, colour-shifting finish. Inspired by previous special editions such as the Chameleon series, the Peacock brings this concept into the latest Empyrean generation: a meticulously crafted, individually numbered Empyrean II with a distinctive aesthetic found on no standard model.

Peacock Edition – Colour in Motion

The defining feature of this special edition is its Peacock lacquer, applied to the redesigned Art-Deco-inspired grille of the Empyrean II. The surface shifts colour depending on how light moves across it, creating a vivid, multi-layered depth that enhances the sculptural lines of the headphone.

The chassis itself retains the architecture of the Empyrean II: a precisely machined frame in fiberglass-reinforced ABS and aluminium, designed for durability without unnecessary weight. Production is strictly limited, with each unit individually numbered. A premium Meze cable—silver-plated or PCUHD copper—comes included, with your choice of termination (2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, 6.3 mm, or XLR).

The Next Evolution of the Empyrean Line

Technically, the Empyrean II Peacock is identical to the standard Empyrean II. The second generation features a refined version of Rinaro’s Isodynamic Hybrid Array® driver, engineered for greater clarity, improved neutrality, and cleaner micro-detail reproduction, while maintaining the easy, inviting character that defined the original Empyrean.

The result is a sound signature with increased transparency, higher resolution and a more precise spatial presentation—yet still effortlessly musical.

MEZE x RINARO – Precision at the Core

At the heart of the Empyrean II lies the MZ3 Isodynamic Hybrid Array® driver. Its ultra-light 0.16 g diaphragm spans 4650 mm² and incorporates two distinct voice-coil shapes within the same membrane. This arrangement directs sound with remarkable precision, optimising high-frequency behaviour and improving imaging by aligning acoustic output with the geometry of the human ear.

Each driver is hand-built and individually tested at Rinaro’s facility in Ukraine, before final assembly in Romania.

Design, Comfort and Long-Term Durability

The Empyrean II Peacock retains the ergonomic ovoid ear-cup design characteristic of the series. The frame uses lightweight but robust materials, while Meze’s self-adjusting headband ensures even pressure distribution for long, fatigue-free listening sessions.

As with all Meze premium headphones, the Peacock model is fully serviceable. Every structural component—including pads, headstrap, frame parts and driver modules—can be replaced, ensuring longevity far beyond typical product cycles.

Two Earpad Sets for Tailored Sound

The Empyrean II Peacock includes both signature earpad types:

Duo Earpads

A combination of leather and Alcantara, shaped specifically for the Empyrean II. They offer a balanced presentation with grip and control in the low end, paired with an airy and open midrange.

Angled Alcantara® Earpads

Designed for maximum openness and detail. The angled interior increases the acoustic chamber volume, providing greater clarity in vocals, wider staging and improved midrange presence.

Both use Rinaro’s Isomagnetic® attachment system for secure placement and reinforced driver efficiency.
