The EISA-awarded WANDLA has already established itself as one of the most accomplished DAC/Preamplifiers in its class. With the original GoldenSound Edition, Ferrum introduced three carefully engineered enhancements that expanded its sonic versatility: deeper low-frequency authority, tube-inspired harmonic richness, and a more immersive spatial presentation.

With WANDLA GoldenSound Edition Gen 2, those three defining features — Impact+, Tube Mode, and Spatial Enhancement — have been completely re-engineered. Each now benefits from its own dedicated Ferrum Sweet Spot Tuning, allowing for deeper personalization while preserving musical coherence.

Something great didn’t just evolve. It matured.

Gen 2 Impact+

Precision Low-End Shaping

In the original GoldenSound Edition, Impact+ introduced a refined low-frequency shelf and peak combination for added weight and realism. In Gen 2, this concept transforms into a comprehensive bass and dynamics shaping system.

You can now choose from seven distinct profiles:

• Reference
• Ref+
• Smooth
• Kick+
• DD-Comp
• DD-Comp+
• Sub-Bass

These profiles are not simple EQ curves. They are carefully voiced tonal architectures, including specialized compensation for dynamic driver behavior.

Beyond profile selection, the overall impact level can be adjusted from 10% to 130%, allowing subtle reinforcement or bold low-end authority depending on your system, headphones, room, or musical preference.

With Ferrum Sweet Spot Tuning integrated into Gen 2 Impact+, adjustments remain controlled, articulate, and musically proportional — never exaggerated.

Gen 2 Tube Mode

Harmonic Richness Without the Hardware

The original Tube Mode introduced a gentle second harmonic sweetness. In Gen 2, Ferrum expands the concept significantly.

You can now select from five iconic tube signatures:

• EL34
• KT88
• 300B
• 2A3
• 7062

Rather than simply adding harmonic coloration, Gen 2 models harmonic structures up to the 7th harmonic, capturing the tonal density and texture associated with real tube amplification.

The intensity of the effect is adjustable from 10% to 200%, allowing anything from a barely perceptible warmth to a pronounced harmonic bloom.

All of this is achieved without the disadvantages traditionally associated with tube gear: no heat, no bulky components, no tube wear, no maintenance costs.

With Sweet Spot Tuning applied, Tube Mode remains refined and balanced — enhancing musicality without obscuring resolution.

Gen 2 Spatial Enhancement

Three-Dimensional Realism, Refined

Spatial Enhancement has also been fully redesigned.

Users can independently activate the spatial algorithm, select output mode (Headphones or Speakers), and now engage the newly introduced Transient Compensation (T-Comp).

Transient Compensation fine-tunes the spatial processing algorithm and reduces its influence on high-frequency transients. The result is a more realistic three-dimensional presentation with improved imaging stability and reduced high-frequency artifacts often associated with conventional crossfeed systems.

The presentation feels wider, deeper, and more holographic — yet remains precise and anchored.

Elevated Digital Headroom

Gen 2 introduces increased immunity to intersample overs, even in bypass mode at full output level. This elevated digital headroom ensures distortion-free playback across modern high-resolution material, preserving clarity and dynamic integrity.

Hardware-Level Voltage Adjustment

WANDLA GoldenSound Edition Gen 2 now features hardware-level output voltage adjustment.

Users can switch between:

• Just below 10 Vrms output
• Just below 4 Vrms output

This is implemented via a dedicated hardware voltage divider, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers without resorting to digital attenuation or adding analog volume components into the signal path.

The signal remains clean. The system remains flexible.

Dynamic Digital Filtering

WANDLA offers three ESS digital filters as standard. In addition, Ferrum introduced — as a world first — custom filters created by Signalyst, known for the HQPlayer platform.

Four proprietary Signalyst filters are now available, with additional refinements planned based on user feedback.

Proprietary Amplification & Architecture

Gen 2 retains and refines WANDLA’s core engineering:

• Fully balanced, modified IC pre-amplifier stage, fine-tuned specifically for GoldenSound Gen 2
• Specially programmed USB input
• Tuned coaxial and optical S/PDIF, AES, ARC (TV with CEC), and I2S inputs optimized for audio
• Proprietary optimized ARM-based SERCE digital module, reducing signal path complexity and eliminating five redundant chips
• Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs
• Digital and analog volume control with bypass option
• Remote control included

At its heart lies the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO, carefully implemented and filtered for maximum performance.

Made for HYPSOS

WANDLA performs at an exceptionally high level on its own. However, when paired with Ferrum’s HYPSOS power supply via the proprietary Ferrum Power Link (FPL) and 4TSD voltage sensing, performance elevates even further.

The synergy unlocks greater control, lower noise, and an even more expressive presentation.
