ZMF – Atrium Closed

The ZMF Atrium Closed is a closed-back headphone that uses innovative technology to create a natural and expansive sound. Utilizing the natural presentation of ZMF’s proprietary Atrium 300 Ohm biocellulose driver, the headphones isolate the sound by creating separate cavities around a diffuser in the shell.

Utilizing the natural presentation of ZMF’s proprietary Atrium 300-ohm bio-cellulose driver, the Atrium Closed offers a new take on ADS attenuation and introduces the concept of gradual diffusion through multi-weighted materials and zoned sound diffusion. ADS for closed-back headphones was developed in conjunction with the Atrium Open to bring the joy of owning a closed-back headphone that fully isolates, provides a satisfying sub-bass rumble and has the musical linearity for any content in your collection.

An acoustic attenuator is used with a variable radius (flat or curved) and at a specific distance from the driver. The space created here allows for greater perceived depth through both diffusion and driver placement. The Atrium (Closed) Damping System is comparable to an artist’s brush or a writer’s preference for an analog typewriter. The designer uses ADS as a tool to achieve the absolute best sound from each driver and headphone cabinet. The clarity, resolution, spaciousness and impact are the result of extensive measurements and listening tests to achieve an amazing headphone experience.

The HOT OFF THE GRILLE (Hot Cup summer) wood for the Atrium Closed LTD is Canarywood. With its vibrant yellow and orange hues interspersed with reddish-brown streaks, brings a lively and exotic aesthetic which gets its distinctive coloration from the heartwood of the Canarywood tree, native to South America. The fine, even texture and natural luster of Canarywood not only provide a smooth, polished finish and will bestow a rainbow and depth of hues that is pretty awesome if you ask us!
