Traditional in-ear monitors often fall short in providing depth and sensation because they only deliver half of the sound equation. In a natural open-ear setting, you perceive sound through two avenues: air conduction and bone conduction. Air conduction involves hearing with your eardrums, while bone conduction transmits sound through the bones in your head to the inner ear (cochlea). Hybrid conduction integrates both air and bone conduction, providing a comprehensive sonic experience.
With Kinetic Bass technology, a specially designed 10mm dynamic driver is strategically positioned, open and ported, directly facing the exterior of the IEM shell. This configuration allows low-frequency sounds to be directly channeled to the ear cartilage and the surrounding area. These low frequencies are then converted into kinetic energy, reaching the inner ear through bone conduction. In traditional in-ear monitors, the ear canal is hermetically sealed. As the diaphragm of the miniature speakers (driver) moves to generate sound, it creates air pressure with no outlet, directly impacting the ear drum. This pressure triggers the ear’s acoustic reflex, causing the ear drum to tighten in defense against loud sounds, leading to listener fatigue. Prolonged exposure to this reflex may contribute to long-term hearing loss.
