Erzetich – Perfidus

The formidable Perfidus stands as a solid-state class-A headphone amp, poised to captivate. Crafted within a sleek aluminum chassis, this desktop powerhouse, though tamed, unleashes a punchy, flat frequency response spanning 4 Hz to 40 kHz. Compatible with all headphones, including orthodynamic, it reveals intricate details with finesse.

In the initial stages, the unit was named In-Cubus, intended for a cube-like chassis with the power supply at the top and the amplifier circuit at the bottom. However, despite efforts to address electro-magnetic interference, the plan proved impractical. The solution? A switch to Plan B, placing it in the Bacillus chassis and slightly extending its length.

The switch proved successful, resulting in a precise and uncompromising amplifier, adept at revealing even the minutest details in recordings. Given its ability to expose imperfections, the name Perfidus emerged, maintaining a contextual link to the original name, In-Cubus.

Perfidus stands as our most intricate project to date. Similar to Bacillus, the goal was to fit it into the smallest chassis possible, making adjustments a meticulous process. The elongated casing features a 7mm aluminum front panel with a robust volume knob, headphone jack, and LED light. At the rear, you’ll find a pair of solid RCA connectors and the power switch. The 2mm thick aluminum rear panel rests on sturdy rubber feet, ensuring a sleek and stable design.
