ACTIVO Q1

Activo X Dita – Discover sonic brilliance with new Q1!

In collaboration between DITA Audio and ACTIVO, two brands dedicated to delivering the ultimate music experience anywhere, anytime, the Q1 project was born. This partnership, which began at the 2012 Ultimate Sound Festival (USF) in Beijing, China, combines the expertise of engineers and creators from both brands.

The Q1 IEM is the result of this collaboration, offering a richer, more detailed sound through its upgraded MOCCA2 cable and brass-encased dynamic driver. With DITA Audio’s signature ultra-clear resin chassis, the refined design ensures that all music lovers can enjoy an exceptional audio experience in their daily lives.

At the core of the Q1 is a modified 9.8mm PM1+ Dynamic Driver with additional windings on the voice coil, housed in a brass casing that is meticulously coated in white to complement the P1 player. This design enhances the depth and smoothness of the low and mid frequencies, while a Knowles balanced armature driver adds airy, enhanced highs. The Q1 is designed to perfectly pair with the P1 player.

The Q1 also incorporates DITA’s distinctive ultra-clear slow-pour resin chassis, promising a unique synergy when used alongside Activo’s P1 Digital Audio Player.

Additionally, the Q1 features the MOCCA2 cable—a substantial upgrade from the original 16-strand MOCCA cable, now consisting of 32 conductors from Cardas. The Q1 accessory package includes five pairs of Final Audio Type-E eartips and an exclusive Activo x DITA Mini Tanos Storage Box, featuring a dark-blue clasp and custom liner to protect both the case and the earphones.

Internal Structure

The Q1 is equipped with DITA Audio’s PM1+ Driver, a 9.8mm dynamic driver that was originally custom-built for DITA’s Project M and now encased in brass for the Q1.

As the core of the Q1’s sound, the PM1+ driver defines its unique sonic signature, delivering textured and detailed audio. This driver offers a full-range sound characterized by clarity, quick response, and punchy bass.

Brass

Brass, a metal historically cherished by aristocracies and dignitaries, has been integral to wind instruments since the ancient Greeks and Romans recognized its tonal qualities—particularly its deep, full, and richly musical resonance. Known for providing clear, articulate sound with warm, rich tonality, brass enhances smooth lows and bright highs.

The Q1 Dynamic Driver’s brass casing contributes to the richness and clarity of its sound, helping the Q1 deliver a warm, resonant audio experience with exceptional detail. It adds a touch of romance and sweetness, building on the sound foundation of DITA’s Project M.

Custom-Built 32 Strand Cable– Conductors by CARDAS

Staying true to DITA’s tradition of custom-building cables for each earphone, the Q1 comes equipped with a bespoke cable featuring 32 strands of Cardas conductors per cable, twisted according to DITA’s precise specifications and encased in a flexible PVC jacket.

The cable also includes DITA’s APV2 system with interchangeable 3.5mm and 4.4mm adaptors, ensuring the Q1 is future-proofed for compatibility with the modern listener’s evolving audio setup.
