Product Description
Shozy x AAW – Pola 39
Shozy x AAW Pola 39 was created with the straightforward goal of enhancing vocal performance with the use of ultra-high frequency extension made possible by Sonion electrostatic drivers. According to Shozy, POLA39 features an ACG genre-optimized tuning. Which results in luscious mids, a rapid and deep bass impact, and an incredibly clear treble.
They employ a brand-new, quick, and responsive patented 10 mm high-flux dynamic driver in addition to two electrostatic drivers to make this happen. The original POLA features ElectroStat drivers and a dynamic 13MM Graphene (carbon allotrope) driver.
In order to fit more ears, Shozy x AAW – Pola 39 also has a smaller housing than the original model. This time, it is not a problem for us because we received a customized Shozy x AAW Pola 39.
The stainless steel nozzle and venting design are also brand-new for the universal variants. The universal POLA39 continues to include a lovely mother-of-pearl design face plate.
Aesthetic Build Quality and Design
The internal construction of the custom shells is flawlessly symmetrical and free from faults. Short and elegantly contoured, the canals are. These monitors are quite cozy thanks to that and how compact the housing is. The seal is always unbroken while the fit is comfortably flush.
On POLA39, the connectors are recessed, but they fit the shell’s body nicely. Shozy chose the mother-of-pearl faceplate for its design. The faceplate and the somewhat bluish-green tint of the shell simply go together perfectly, and POLA39 is quite stunning.
The nitpicker in me might point out that the right face-plate closing has a marginally sharp edge, but you can only feel it with your fingertips, not your ears. Overall, a very excellent product.
The original POLA utilized a TrueXross 2 Way Crossover with a 13mm Graphene (carbon allotrope) dynamic driver and twin electrostatic tweeter hybrid design.
The new POLA39 keeps the same twin electrostatic driver architecture as the original but replaces the 13mm driver with a somewhat smaller proprietary 10mm dynamic driver.
The housing has also been reduced in size with a redesigned venting and nozzle design to maximize implementation. Shozy & AAW have also kept the package’s standard cable, the superb Null Audio 48′′ Symphonym Tiburon UP-OCC Copper Litz 4-wire cable.
Optimum Comfort with Sound Quality
The personalized contouring feels extremely comfortable and looks to function fairly well in the ear. It does not stand out as much as the original POLA due to the new design’s more compact dimensions.
On the Pola, the sound staging is excellent with excellent depth and, in comparison, somewhat less width and height. It isn’t huge, but it’s extremely livable, and it doesn’t appear either too small or too big.
The orchestra can be seated easily, and instrument separation helps make up for some of the lost widths by ensuring that nothing is obviously overlapping or mixed up wrong.
When the right amplifying used, layering was superior. The imaging is excellent. In space, it is simple to detect sounds, but it might be challenging to pinpoint their precise location. This is a situation where the imaging is quite accurate but not quite precise.
A really intriguing and thrilling sounding earphone, the Pola39 is unquestionably deserving of Shozy’s flagship rank when used with foam ear tips (for an optimal fit).
It is tuned with good zeal, which gives it a presentation that is very energetic, open, and airy and makes the music sound really remarkable.
The bass is very audible and present. Mids sound very open and natural, but they also have a leaner body and are entertaining. The Treble has a sizzle on top and is spacious and airy.
Remember that Pola39 requires strong loudness power. Most DAPs can easily drive it, however, it sounds best when paired with another DAP.
Final Thoughts about Shozy x AAW Pola 39
Shozy successfully demonstrates that you don’t need a lot of drivers to have high premium tuning with their Pola39. It has a very engaging and dynamic sound while being fairly smooth and devoid of obtrusive upper mids or treble. It characterized primarily by strong bass, organic nature, airy and open treble, and a wide soundstage.
Most IEMs in this segment and even above do not provide premium cables, cases, or overall rich-looking packaging, but the Pola39 does. Unfortunately, there aren’t many alternatives for silicone ear tips with Pola39, which makes it challenging to obtain the snuggest fit.
Overall, the Pola39 is an IEM that strikes hard, is really musical and thrilling, and offers excellent value for the money.
