The SR-007S marks the latest evolution in STAX’s legendary 007 series – a line that has been the reference in electrostatic headphones for decades. With redesigned internals, a clear focus on sonic fine-tuning and noticeably improved comfort, the SR-007S combines technical innovation with STAX’s signature craftsmanship – made in Japan, of course.

At the heart of the model upgrade is a fine-tuned membrane and electrode structure: the openings of the large, round metal electrodes have been reduced in size by 20% using a high-precision etching process. The result is a more balanced sound image with more control in the bass range, increased definition in the treble range and enhanced resolution in the fine dynamic imaging.

Peace and quiet in the system: anti-resonance structure

Inspired by the flagship SR-X9000, STAX relies on a new anti-resonance structure (ARS) for the SR-007S. A robust bracket with integrated stainless steel plate increases the rigidity of the housing and minimizes unwanted vibrations. The movable earcups automatically adapt to the shape of the head – without any mechanical adjustment.

Comfort that lasts

Soft ear pads made of genuine sheepskin are used for direct skin contact, combined with side elements made of artificial leather. The swivel mounting not only improves the fit, but also supports the acoustic performance – for example by reducing internal reflections. The newly designed interior upholstery contributes to more targeted cushioning and ensures a natural, depth-graded spatial representation.

Sustainable thinking

As with many STAX models, the cable of the SR-007S can also be easily replaced. It has a low-capacitance design and therefore contributes to the high level of detail. A practical and durable design that also takes sustainability into account.
