Sennheiser HDV820
The secret to world-class music listen to the experience
Sennheiser HDV820 With class-leading DAC and headphone amplifier technology, the HDV 820 brings your headphone collection to life.
It’s the go-to center for all of your sources, with a variety of cutting-edge I/O and world-class conversion.
Quality by experience and expertise
With top-of-the-line digital-to-analog conversion and excellent amplification, the HDV 820 is a reference-grade solution for essential listening activities, optimizing headphone performance.
While it is self-evident that transducer quality has a direct effect on high-level responsiveness and speed, the road to complete immersion necessitates the use of optimal circuitry from input to output.
Sennheiser’s HDV 820 applies over 75 years of audio knowledge to almost any source or earphone.
Two technologies in one
Reference-grade digital audio converter and a DSD-compatible headphone amplifier that supports all standard digital and analog hi-fi connectors.
For reliable connection to other components, the HDV 820 includes an analog pass-through.
Virtually endless number of digital sources
Inside, the high-end ESS 9028PRO SABRE converter guarantees that the final output is a perfect match for the digital source. For a practically infinite number of digital sources, all standard word lengths and sampling rates are supported: On the back, balanced and unbalanced analog inputs are flanked by USB, S/PDIF coaxial, and optical.
The DSD profiles on a PC are supported by an ASIO driver, allowing you to stream up to DSD256 at 12.3 MHz on a Mac or Windows-based source, as well as PCM files up to 32 bits and 384 kHz sample rate.
Sennheiser HDV820 Unbiased performance
The HDV 820’s amp circuitry is equally essential, delivering strong gain with a noise floor shrouded solely in quiet.
The dynamic range (over 115 dB @ 600 Ohms) and overall harmonic distortion (0.001%) are also low, and the frequency response spans 10 to 100,000 Hz, ensuring unbiased performance until the very last second before reaching your headphones.
Sennheiser HDV820 New connections
With XLR3, XLR4, 6.3mm, and twin 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn headphone connectors, the HDV 820 fits seamlessly into your hi-fi system.
Control over Sennheiser’s magnificent trademark sound is at the tip of your fingertips. When paired with flagship headphones like the HD 800 S, HD 820, and HD 660 S.
All dynamic headphones are accepted, and XLR analog outputs transmit any source to other components. Making it ideal for audio or video editing at your desktop studio.
