Product Description
Feliks Audio – Euforia
Crossfeed is a revolutionary solution in the class of tube amplifiers that provides better control over the listening experience. This is a system that enables more natural channel separation and wider soundstage by moving a part of the lower frequency range to the opposite channel. The Feliks Audio – Euforia is the top of the line amplifier in the product line.
Listening to a regular headphone amplifier places you “in the middle of the orchestra” – with certain instruments being heard strictly in the left ear while others only in the right one.
Depending on the type of music, this can cause discomfort and listener fatigue. That’s why we decided to implement a user-switchable cross-feed function among selected products. This lets you try a more natural, less clinical “front-facing orchestra” experience, like in real life.
Incredible! Build quality with stock drivers’ design
Build quality is impeccable, no imperfections in the finish of the amp, all the inputs and the headphone out are solid, and the valve sockets are tight. And to top it off, it looks fantastic with a very understated matte black finish and symmetrical valve placement.
There are cooling vents on the bottom of the unit, feet are pre-attached and it all works as it should. The volume knob has a small line indicator for the volume, and the volume pot is very smooth to operate.
The Euforia is designed around two 6AS7G power tubes and two 6SN7 driver tubes. The amplifier is equipped with an automatic bias circuit, therefore no re-tuning is required after changing tubes. Feliks Audio claims the optimal sound quality will be reached after approximately 30 to 50 hours of run-in.
The stock driver tubes are 6SN7 and the power tubes are 6N13S. That means the driver tubes can be switched out for 6N8S, CV181, ECC32, 5692, and 6F8G tube types. For the power tubes, you can use 6080, 5998, 6N5P, 6N5S, ECC230, 7236, and CV2523 tube types.
Crystal Clear Sound Quality on Feliks Audio – Euforia
As a tube amplifier, there are a variety of styles to be experienced with the Euforia. Its inherent signature, however, is more neutral. This is what you’ll expect to see with some combinations. However, with some “higher-end” tubes, things become more interesting, and when you switch out the tubes, you’ll discover some magical pairings.
What this has available to roll is the Bendix 6080, GEC 6080, Mullard EL38, RCA 6AS7G as power supplies, and the EL32, Philips EL3N, and Sylvania 6SN7 as drivers. With these tubes alone, the Euforia sounds fantastic.
The Euforia that engages has a certain fluidity to it.Overall, with the right tubes, it’s a smooth, clean sound. The Euforia is faithfully rendered with an apparent soft, velvety musicality.
Crystal Clear Sound Quality
The RCA 6AS7G power paired with the Philips EL3N as drivers brings out the bass, and after tube burn-in, things start to sound a little smoother, with a rich, ambient tonality, and a better soundstage that pronounces the level of engagement and overall sound signature.
Since there really is no end to the combinations that you can try with the Euforia, in the process of switching out tubes, the difference in sonic qualities that are emphasized really makes you feel like you have many amps.
This limitless potential for what flavors can be achieved is the true beauty of this neutral amplifier; you can tailor the sound with a variety of signature tubes and it won’t fail to deliver its inherent tune with the added bonuses that are unique to each tube.
In all, this is a totally neutral amplifier. Its flatline rendering may not be for everyone, but I wouldn’t disqualify it from being a part of one’s stable. The sound coming from the Euforia isn’t just pure, it’s of an enticing variety that stuns with its smoothness.
It brings music together with such ease that it’s impossible to ignore the quality behind this amp. In fact, the naturalness of Euforia is what makes it so hard to describe. Because it’s so fluid, smooth, and neutral while remaining musical, ascribing qualities to the Euforia really tips the sense of equilibrium that you get from this no-nonsense amp.
