The 99 Classics V2 retains the familiar warmth and inviting character of the original but takes a confident step toward a more balanced, neutral tuning. Bass remains full and engaging, yet more disciplined, giving the midrange and treble more room to breathe. The result is a sound that feels both natural and transparent — alive, but never exaggerated.
A newly developed driver-matching process, using mixed cosine and level-adjustment algorithms, ensures tighter left–right consistency in the mid and high frequencies. Stereo imaging feels more stable, with greater focus and precision from pair to pair.
A slightly enlarged internal ear cup volume improves low-frequency control and overall acoustic balance, while a new precision sealing systemand dedicated bass vent deliver cleaner bass tuning and more consistent performance. The baffle architecture has also been re-engineered for acoustic transparency — reducing diffraction and minimizing high-frequency artifacts for a clearer, more open presentation.
And for those who still love the warm, lush tonality of the original 99 Classics, Meze includes a set of Acoustic Absorber Discs, allowing you to tailor the sound to your preference.

The instantly recognizable silhouette remains. Each pair of solid walnut ear cups is individually CNC-machined, sanded, stained, and polished by hand in a 45-day process. No two pairs are alike — every headphone carries its own unique wood grain, color tone, and character.
The cast zinc hardware, finished in rich gold, adds a touch of understated elegance. The self-adjusting headband combines spring steel with soft vegan leather for exceptional comfort, a hallmark that made the 99 Classics famous.
Newly designed clip-in ear pads replace the previous stretch-fit system, offering more consistent positioning, longer lifespan, and easier replacement. Made from medium-density foam and supple vegan leather, they strike a perfect balance between comfort and isolation.
Staying true to Meze’s sustainable philosophy, the 99 Classics V2 is fully serviceable. Every part — from cups and cables to drivers and headband — can be replaced. Built to last, designed to endure.
Modern Usability
Reflecting how we listen today, Meze has rethought the entire connectivity experience. The new Dual-Twisted OFC cable, Kevlar-sheathed for durability and flexibility, ensures excellent signal integrity while resisting tangles and wear.
